Organization: The Simplified Planner
One of my favorite things about the “back to school” season was meticulously picking out my brand-new planner that would help carry me through another school year filled with classes, extracurriculars, and a social life. I would spend a lot of time in the Target aisle flipping through allllll the planners and trying to conceptualize how I would organize and utilize this planner to fit my life. I would get a thrill out of this and would always be so excited to use it.
In 2017, I read Emily Ley’s book, Grace Not Perfection. This was my first time ever consuming anything Emily Ley. In her book, she mentioned how she started a company making planners. Of course, this intrigued me and I had to look it up! I made the decision that I would buy my first Emily Ley planner that September for the upcoming 2018-2019 year.
I was SO EXCITED when it arrived. I got the Happy Stripe cover and, boy, did it make me happy every time I saw it and used it. That’s when I became a loyal Simplified Planner user! For the 2019-2020 year, I chose the Watercolor Floral cover because I thought it went perfectly with what was to come in 2019; our wedding! It oozes the whimsical, romantic, and magical feelings of a wedding and starting a first year of marriage.
The Simplified Planner truly embodies its name and is just that; simplified. It’s your stripped down, bare bones, no fluff, get-down-to-business kind of planner. I have only used the daily version that includes an hourly column, to-do list column, and a notes section. My appointments, meetings, to-do lists, reminders, and sometimes even my Target list are all housed here.
Beyond the actual planner part, it also includes worksheets and the Simplicity Challenge at the front to help you figure out your priorities, declutter, and get down to the heart of everything. The goal is to simplify and be able to show up and create margin for what matters most.
Another cool added feature is the Sunday prep. Each Sunday, part of your to-do list section is already filled out for you by the Simplified team and it includes tasks such as meal prep for the week to come and filling your tank.
And the extra sprinkles on top is that it comes with super cute stickers! You can also purchase more stickers beyond what it comes with if you want to jazz up planner even more with fun stuff!
Now, I am no longer perusing through allllll the planners at Target each year trying to figure out what will work best for me. Instead, all that time is spent trying to figure which cover I am going to get! (This year, it’s hard for me!)
This is not an ad. I am not part of their affiliate program (yet!). I just truly love the Simplified brand, their values, and pretty much everything about what they stand for! It’s one of the integral ways I stay organized and on top of things. I do believe in the power of using a planner. Please let me know if you have any questions about the Simplified products. I would be happy to gush and geek out about all. the. things.
Happy Sunday, friends!
